Dan Hallett
Dan Hallett is the President of Dan Hallett and Associates
Inc.("DH&A") - a Windsor Ontario based independent investment
research firm. Dan's ongoing research efforts include conversations
with Canada's top money managers, research on various investment
strategies and products, and providing tools to help advisors in
better serving their clients.
Prior to launching DH&A, Dan was the Senior Investment Analyst with
Sterling Mutuals Inc. - a Windsor Ontario based mutual fund
dealer. Prior to that, Dan spent three years as the Senior Analyst
with FundMonitor.com Corporation - a Toronto based investment research
firm where he was integral in the development of online portfolio
analysis tools. Dan led each respective firm's fund research efforts
and counselled many of Canada's top financial advisors on portfolio
design for their high net worth clients.
Recognized as an investment expert, Dan's view and opinions are
regularly featured in print and online media. Dan is a contributing
editor for Canadian MoneySaver magazine and is the exclusive
contributing writer on Canadian issues for IndexFunds.com - a San
Francisco based website for index investors. He has also served as a
contributor and/or reference for a number of best-selling personal
finance books.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of
Windsor, is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) licensee, and a
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Dan is a member of
the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) and the
Toronto Society of Financial Analysts (TSFA). His areas of specialty
are portfolio design and tax-smart portfolio management.
