The Rothery Report
The Rothery Report got its start in the spring of 2001 as a deep-value newsletter. It has grown and expanded since then. A single subscription now provides access to 6 different quarterly digital newsletters (all based on different value-investing themes) plus a weekly email letter.
Here's an overview of what you'll get with your subscription.
The Rothery Report is the flagship quarterly letter that focuses on deep-value stocks in both the U.S. and Canada. It's goal is to find bargain stocks that are cheap and relatively safe that can be held for a long time. (Any portfolio changes are announced via a timely email alert service.)
Market Musings takes a top down look at the markets each quarter. It investigates index returns, stock market valuation, the yield offered by bonds, and more. Think of it as looking at the overall state of the market from the value point of view.
Stingy Stocks provides a quarterly update of Norm's popular value screen that seeks bargains from within the S&P 500. As an extra bonus, it also highlights Canadian stocks in the S&P/TSX Composite index that pass muster.
Defensive Stocks tracks Norm's take on Benjamin Graham's method for defensive investors, which has been quite successful over the years. It highlights Canadian, and U.S., firms that pass the test each quarter.
Surging Value blends both value and momentum approaches to build a portfolio of cheap U.S. stocks that are on the move each quarter. It takes a more active approach to the market.
Northern Dividends focuses on Canadian dividend stocks for more conservative equity investors. Each quarter it seeks out reasonably-priced stocks with generous shareholder yields that have a history of growing their dividends.
The Rothery News Weekly helps to bring it all together. It highlights news concerning Rothery Report stocks, links to interesting investing articles, simple screens, and more. The email is sent out each week except on the rare occasion when we go on vacation.

When investing in stocks, good results can not be guaranteed. Indeed, we've made mistakes in the past and expect to lose money on some investments in the future. Naturally, we try to minimize losses and maximize gains but this happy result can not guaranteed.
Make sure that any investment is right for you
Always think for yourself and do your own due diligence before trading. Many investors have special limitations that make some investments unsuitable for them. So, make sure that any investment is right for you and talk to your professional investment adviser before trading.
I hasten to add that some people should avoid investing in the stock market entirely. For instance, debt-laden individuals should think about repaying their debts before diving into the market.
